An antique 19th-century second quality (835/1000) silver tobacco box. Square model, with guilloche engraving on the top, further ribbed around. Marked with a walking lion, Minerva head, year letter F (1840), and master mark K3 = Jacob Kooiman, active in Schoonhoven between 1837 and 1853. Additionally engraved on the top with an image of a deer. On the inside engraved with the name 'Arjen H. Palsma' and date '5d 6m 1840'. This likely refers to me, Arjen Hendriks Palsma, born at Palsma State in Wirdum on January 9, 1819, died in Sint-Annaparochie on March 19, 1896.
